MON PETIT MOJAVE IS A 15-ACRE RANCH LOCATED IN YUCCA VALLEY, CA.
Rotate Studio is a dance and fitness studio for BODIES of all abilities, genders, races, shapes, and sizes located in the heart of HOUSTON, TEXAS.
Our mission is to build community, acceptance and culture through dance. ROTATE STUDIO offers beautifully-designed spaces to move, build, and socialize. We embrace diversity and body-positivity: all athletes are always welcome here.
March 22nd, 2020
Our first show was held on March 22nd, 2020. After seeing that churches were hosting drive-in services as the world started to shut down, we thought, why not a drive-in concert? After all, music and nature are equally healing and spiritual experiences for many.
We let the community know through word of mouth, and eight cars showed up that day. We parked them in a semi-circle around the beautiful Joshua Tree - six feet apart, of course. A rug was thrown on the floor to serve as the stage, and we had one hour of batter in our speakers.
Because we didn’t know much about Covid, we broadcast the show on a low-frequency radio channel, 104.5 FM. This way, people didn’t even have to roll down their window to hear the music.
Our guests loved the experience so much that they came back the next weekend, and the next, and the next…and the rest, as they say, is history.
